Kirk Duane McMinn

Kirk Duane McMinn went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 2, 2022 at the age of 57.

Kirk was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 16, 1964 to Tommy and Betty McMinn.  He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1982 and continued his education at Stephen F. Austin State University where he studied horticulture.  Kirk married Deidra “Dee Dee” Long in 1990 and together they were blessed with two wonderful children, Tanner and Peyton.  Kirk began his career in horticulture working at Las Creek Country Club, but then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps as a lineman for Texas Electric Service Company.  Working through all the various company name changes, he worked his way up to an Oncor Crew Foreman.  He always had a story to tell and truly felt a brotherhood with so many of his fellow linemen that he always treasured.  Kirk loved his family, boating, motorcycling, camping, fishing, hunting and so many other things, but mostly he loved the Lord.  He would spend hours in the word each day.

Kirk is preceded in death by his parents:  Father, Tommy “Skeet” McMinn; and Mother, Betty McMinn.

He is survived by his wife, Dee Dee McMinn; Son, Tanner McMinn; Daughter, Peyton Westrum and her husband, Zach; Brother, Trey McMinn; Brother, Trent McMinn and his wife, Jennifer; nieces, nephews and many beloved in-laws and extended family members.
