——————————————————————————–
GLEN ROSE — LaJane Morgan, 76, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, left this earth to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Glen Rose.
Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Interment: Georges Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was a person who always chose to find the good in everyone that crossed her path and was not judgmental. Even after her health deteriorated, she kept her faith and sense of humor.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1935, in Fort Worth to Slim and Ruth Tillmon. Her father was a ranch foreman and worked on several ranches in Texas and Oklahoma, including the famed Waggoner Ranch and 3D Stock Farm. Her mother was a fascinating woman who was able to ride horses and work cattle along side men. LaJane was an only child and the family moved to Oklahoma when she was 14 years old. She graduated from Bromide High School in Bromide, Okla., in 1953 and was valedictorian of her class.
She was introduced to Curtis Morgan at Bromide Baptist Church while he was home on military leave. They married in 1955 and moved to Texas to build their life. Curtis served in the United States Army for 11 years and worked as a pipeliner while they traveled to many states across the U.S. They had three children, Scott, Kevin and Sue.
She was an active member of Georges Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed painting, reading, refinishing furniture and genealogy research.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Slim and Ruth Tillmon; her in-laws, Lunts and Ruby Morgan; infant daughter, who died at birth, Karen Morgan; and grandson, Cody Morgan.
Survivors: Husband, Curtis Morgan; her children, Scott Morgan and his wife, Angie Hall, Kevin Morgan, and Sue and her husband, Dale Sparks; grandchildren, Derek Morgan and wife, Dianna, Rudy Morgan and wife, Laci, Joanna Golliday and husband, Shep, and Dakota Sparks; great-grandchildren, Grace Morgan, Grant Morgan and Greer Morgan.
