GRANBURY — Larry Anderson, beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012. He was 67 years young.
Service: 2 p.m.Sunday at Acton Baptist Church, 3600 Fall Creek Highway, Acton.
Larry was born in Lexington, Okla., on May 13, 1945. He was raised in Velma, Okla. Larry graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1967 with a B.S. degree in physical education and social studies. He served in the Naval Reserve for two years.
In 1968, he married Rachel Anderson. He received his master’s of education in 1970 from the University of Central Oklahoma. Larry coached and taught in Edmond, Okla., Putman City West High School in Oklahoma City, Okla., and Granbury High School. He also worked in sales for Allied Signal and retired as an administrator from Granbury ISD in 2005.
Larry dearly loved his family and friends and he was loved in return, equally as much. His golfing and fishing buddies brought him great joy. Larry’s wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook on life are just one part of his legacy. His smile lit up a room.
Everyone’s lives that were touched by his were blessed immeasurably. Larry, “Kahuna,” “Pretty Boy,” “Kingfish,” “Skeeter,” Grampa and Dad will be missed forever.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Jewell Anderson; a niece, Kristy Lynn Anderson; and a brother-in-law, R.A. Cole.
Survivors: His wife and soul mate of 44 yeras, Rachel “Fluffy” Anderson; daughter, Kelli “Buddy” Connell; son, Nick Anderson; grandchildren, Camden and Sydney Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Dwayne and Barbara Sue Anderson; sister, Barbara Kay Cole; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
