Larry Leonard McLauchlin, 64, of Azle, Texas, died March 17, 2020.
A memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Biggers Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Texas.
Larry was born in Fort Worth, Texas, the oldest child of Earl and Mildred McLauchlin. Larry attended Eagle-Mountain-Saginaw Schools and graduated from Boswell High School in 1974.
He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Debra “Debbie” Dianne Langley McLauchlin, and loving father to Wesley Ryan McLauchlin, who preceded him in death in 2016.
An active member of the Jacksboro Lions Club, Larry lived its mission. He led by example, built relationships, and improved the world through kindness. Larry was a humble leader, respected by everyone who knew him for his work ethic, wisdom and compassion for others. He had the unique ability to mentor others so they could live a better life and did so without any expectation of recognition or anything in return. He was truly a servant leader and will be missed by all.
He worked for 48 years in the grocery business, starting with Buddie’s Super Market as a sacker, and working his way up the ladder to management positions. Prior to becoming ill, Larry was the manager for Lowe’s Market in Jacksboro. Although he was not a resident of Jacksboro, Larry quickly became a beloved member of the community and was active in the Chamber of Commerce as well as the Lions Club.
He is predeceased by his son, Wesley Ryan McLauchlin; his father Earl Leonard McLauchlin; and his mother and father-in-law, Barbara and Billy C. Langley.
