Christie Jones Schemmel left a message on February 17, 2021:
Mrs Farley was my 5th grade teacher and music/chorus teacher at Tandy Elementary in the 60’s She taught me more about music and instruments than I’ve learned since. A wonderful teacher, very special, gifted, and kind lady. I’ve thought of her often during the years - especially when I hear the Nutcracker Suite or Peter and the Wolf. I still know which instrument is which. My deepest sympathies to the family and those close to her. She was a blessing to many.

I met Pete Farley and his daughters when the girls and I went to church. Praying that you always remember that she is in a better place. I love my friends, Jennifer and Rebekah.

When I was pregnant in 1980, I sat beside Fayrene in choir at First United Methodist Church. She asked me if we had names picked out and I told her that we didn’t have a girl name for sure. She said that Quasha was the most popular name at her school that year. When my son was born, I sent her a card announcing the birth of “Quasha Fayrene Burks”. When I saw her next she shook that finger at me and laughed and laughed. I loved her a lot.

We stood beside each other for about 20 years singing with the Melody Belles in Granbury. Loved her like a sister.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
