GLEN ROSE — LaVoyce Jackson, 100, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 in Glen Rose.
Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose. Interment: Nancy Smith Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
LaVoyce was born June 10, 1913 in Comanche County to Carl & M. L. Middleton Lowry. She married Jessie Earl Jackson, Sr. on Feb. 26, 1935.
She had lived in Glen Rose since 1945 and was valedictorian of her graduating class. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and worked in the grocery stores and r.v. park.
LaVoyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Jan. 22, 1976; a son, Jessie Earl Jackson, Jr. in 2001 and a brother.
Survivors: Daughters, Barbara and husband, Edgar Garrison of Glen Rose and Patricia and husband, John K. Faust of Glen Rose; grandchildren, Pamela, Christine, Teresa, Barry, David, Cindy and Carrie; many great grandchildren.
