GRANBURY — Lawrence “Cotton” Payne, 81, passed away Sunday, Apr. 15, 2012, in Granbury.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 18, 2012, at Annetta Cemetery in Annetta, Texas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: Alzheimer’s Foundation or Integra Care Hospice.
Mr. Payne was born Mar. 12, 1931, in Foard County, Texas, to Ernest and Ghiona Aldridge Payne. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Church of God in Granbury. Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors: Wife, Marlene Payne of Granbury; children, Rita Rexrode and husband, Alan, Tammy Thornberry and husband, Bruce, Teresa Wagner and husband, James; grandchildren, Melissa Stanley, Amber Wagner, Ryan Rexrode, Ashley Rexrode, Chase Bumpers, Latisha Thornberry, Jennifer Thornberry, Michael Ward, Steve Stanley; 17 great grandchildren and three more on the way; brother, Jerry Wayne Payne and wife, Brenda; sisters, Peggy Thompson, Tina Guzman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
