Lecia Anne Willingham

December 5, 1961 - March 27, 2022

 

Lecia Anne Willingham passed away on March 27, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in December of 1961 to Paul and Betsey Bark in Germany.

 

Lecia attended Nolan Catholic High School and graduated from James Bowie High School in Arlington, Texas. After high school, she studied at Austin College. As a teenager Lecia worked at Six Flags in Arlington where she met her husband, Joe Willingham. Joe and Lecia were married on December 5, 1981 and remained together for the next 40 years. In her adult life, Lecia had a long established career in human resources. She was a retired HR officer for Health First of Fort Worth, Texas. She was a member of  St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas.

 

In her free time, Lecia loved to camp and fish. She was probably at her happiest when she was catching fish, not just fishing. Lecia was a very loving and giving person, always willing to help her friends and family, or even a stranger.

 

Lecia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Betsey; brothers, Paul Bark & William Bark; and mother & father-in-law Johnnie and Pauline Willingham.

 

She is survived by her loving husband, Joe Willingham; son, Joseph Willingham, and numerous nephews and nieces.

 

The Willingham family would like to thank Janelle Vaughn and Kent Darr for the care they provided Lecia in her times of need.

I remember how much she loved to cook. As a teenager I was over at the house alot... one afternoon she said... let's make some pasta for dinner. Then out came all the pasta gadgets and do dads.lol together we made spaghetti noodles, or linguine noodles and ravioli. That was so cool to me! I have never made homemade pasta since then. Oh this is just one of many memories we had. I love you and you will never be forgotten.

Lecia was an incredible woman! We met about 7 years ago and instantly became friends. She, Joe and Joey took me in as part of their family. I considered her my little sister and will always miss her sweet kind smiling face! Lecia had many health obstacles placed in her way but she always rose above and showed us how to live graciously. She taught me many lessons about what it means to live a Christian life simply byher example. The world is a much better place because of the life Lecia led so I wish her peace now to rest with her family members who have gone before her
