Spurg was born November 14, 1957 in Littlefield, Texas to Glenn and Dosey Reeves. He moved to Saginaw in 1965 when his father became the Superintendent of the Eagle Mountain – Saginaw ISD. He was a lifelong supporter of EMS and a “true Pioneer,” graduating from Boswell High School in 1976. He was a part of the EMS maintenance department since 2010. Spurg was a hard-working, dependable, kind soul who never met a stranger and had a servant’s heart. Always willing to help anyone in need, he had the gift to just do whatever needed to be done to assist all who knew him. He was a true friend to all. In his free time, Spurg loved working EMS ball games, mowing with his crew, and spending time with family and friends.
More than anything else, Spurg loved his family, friends, and family gatherings. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Boswell sports, mowing, visiting Ouray, Colorado, his trucks, woodworking, and the Saginaw community.
Whether he was working with maintenance, Boswell sports, or enjoying his favorite pastimes, Spurg touched the lives of all who knew him with his humble, unassuming nature, kind disposition, and willingness to assist all.
He is survived by Carol, his wife of 41 years; son, Glenn Dee Reeves of Saginaw; daughter, Cathy Leigh Reeves (Rich) of Granbury; Siblings, Mark Walton Reeves of Saginaw, Charla Spraggens (Gary) of Azle, and Shannon Reeves of Saginaw; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a host of loving friends.
