Lesley Drew Bekendam, 63, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 in Fort Worth.
Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury.
Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park, Granbury.

Lesley was born on February 13, 1953 in Tomball, Texas to John and Alice (Cline) Young.

She grew up in Bryan, Texas and was married in 1975 to Steve Bekendam. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1978. Lesley considered it a joy to be a mother to her 3 children, supporting them as a mom and also as a close friend.

Lesley has been resident of Granbury since 2007.

Lesley has always had a special place in her heart for children. Besides pouring into the lives of her own kids and grandchildren, she worked with children in various roles over the years including serving in her church children’s department, daycares, and the Boys and Girls Club.

Lesley always made relationships a priority and never met a stranger, a true Texan at heart. She loved being outside, drinking coffee and talking on the phone. Lesley loved Jesus and knew one day she would be by His side in her heavenly home.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Bekendam; daughters, Lynsey Cunningham and husband, Charlie, Addie Enlow and husband, Blake; son, Bo Bekendam and wife, Andrea; mother, Alice Burt Young Koester; brother, John Young; sisters, Sydney LeNoir, Cristy Young Boucher, ten grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
