Lillian A. Walton was born on August 6, 1917 in Winthrop, Iowa. On August 14, 2017, Lillian passed peacefully at the home of her granddaughter in Granbury, Texas. Lillian graduated nursing school as a registered nurse and worked at Grant Hospital in Chicago where she met her future husband Dr. Jack Raymond Walton. The two moved back to Dr. Walton’s hometown of Midland, Texas and opened a medical practice where Lillian served as his RN for many years. Lillian had one child, Jacqueline W. Allen. Lillian was known by many to be an amazing cook and baker. There wasn’t a kitchen gadget that she did not seem to have. She remained in Midland at her home still cooking up to her 99th year. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Theresa Clark, husband Dr. Jack Raymond Walton, her siblings Lucille Gremmels and Laverne Clark, her daughter Jacqueline W. Allen and son-in-law C. Ray Allen. She is survived by her only grandchild Stacy Lillian Jewett, her husband Matthew Jewett and two great grandsons Jack Jewett and Raymond Jewett.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time in Midland, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to Midland College Foundation, Nursing Program Scholarships, 3600 North Garfield Street, Midland, Texas 79705 or by phone 432-685-4531.
