Lillie Jean Lambert went to rest in the arms of her Savior Sunday, October 2nd at home surrounded by her family after a year and a half battle with lung cancer. Jean had previously beat breast cancer and was a 40 plus year survivor.
Lillie Jean, daughter of the late Alton L. (Jack) and Roxie Mae Dewbre was born on December 12, 1934 in Ryan Oklahoma.
After high school, Jean moved to the panhandle of Texas, married and began raising her family. She and her daughters moved to NM in 1973 where she lived for over 30 years, and cared for both parents in their later years. She moved to Glen Rose, TX in 2004.
She is survived by her four daughters, Roxann Bingham of Glen Rose, Pam (Jeff) Wagner of Lapeer, Michigan, Jackie (David) Rives of Covington, TX and Linda Lambert-Wells of Lubbock, TX. She has eight grandchildren: Alton, Stephonie, Jennese, Brandi, Dawn, Kaleb, Kendra and Jeremy. Great grandchildren are: Zachary, Amanda, Talyn, Joshua, Ethan, Harli and Nathaniel; One brother, Gerald Dewbre of Ft. Sumner, NM, and sister-in-law (of younger brother), Kathy Dewbre.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Billy Wayne Dewbre.
The family is so appreciative and grateful to the hospital staff, wonderful caregiver Candice Evartt and hospice nurse Amy Emerson, who made her last days comfortable.
Graveside services will be held at the Nancy Smith Cemetery under the care of Wiley Funeral Home Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 2:30 pm with Raymond Evartt officiating. Pallbearers are: David Rives, Jeff Wagner, Jeremy Rives, Kaleb Hanna, Zachary Jones, and Brent Hamilton. Honorary pallbearers are: Alton Jones and Jimmy Stone.
Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Jean Lambert in care of Wiley Funeral Home, Glen Rose, Texas.
