Loretta Stavenhagen, a longtime resident of Granbury, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2017, in Bedford, Texas, surrounded by her family.
Graveside service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017 in Bishop Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation: Thursday and Friday at Wiley Chapel in Granbury.
Born on June 6, 1923 in Cotton Center, Texas, Loretta was the 12th of 14 children of E.A. and Ausie Shackelford. She married T.H. Stavenhagen on December 16, 1940. They had two children and were married for 62 ½ years. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren brought great joy to her life.
Loretta was a member of Acton Baptist Church for over 40 years participating in her Sunday School class and LLL Club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and playing dominoes and card games with friends and family. She also volunteered in a local nursing home for over 20 years. Loretta will be greatly missed by those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, T. H. Stavenhagen; son, Kenneth Stavenhagen; great grandson, Reed Stavenhagen and 13 siblings.
Survivors: Daughter, Nanette Fisher; grandchildren, Teriann and husband, Michael Scheets, Tracy Fisher Mackie, Kenny Stavenhagen and wife, Jennifer, Scott Stavenhagen and wife, Molly; great grandchildren, Bradley Stavenhagen, Maysen Mackie, Brianne Scheets, Peyton Stavenhagen, Austin Scheets, Landry Stavenhagen and Carson Stavenhagen.
