Louise E. Campbell, 93, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 22, 2017.
Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, in Biggers Funeral Chapel.
Committal service will be private as her family honors her together.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, or a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated.
Louise was born in Hamlin on June 27, 1924 to Walter and Letha Frank Nowlin. In 1944 she graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Harris School of Nursing in Fort Worth. She married Wayne Campbell in 1947 and they settled in Azle in 1952. Both she and Wayne were active in their community and in the Baptist church. She taught Bible study classes for almost 60 years and was known for her faith and dedication.
In 1997, at the age of 72, the United Way honored Louise for her faithful service to others by naming her Volunteer of the Year. When accepting this award, her only concern was that the honor go to Jesus. “I believe that the Lord leads us to volunteer” was her response when accepting this tribute.
Louise loved her family, her friends and most of all, her Savior. She leaves a beautiful legacy that enriched and impacted the lives of so many people, and now she takes her place in the kingdom of heaven. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Wayne Campbell.
Our family would like to take this opportunity to express our utter gratitude to the loving and compassionate staff at Arden Courts in Austin, where Louise lived her last months, and to Kindred Hospice for just being so very kind and supportive. You are both proof angels truly live among us.
Survivors include her children, Karen Mead and her husband, Robert of Austin and Stephen Campbell of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Mark Hutcheson and wife, Shannon of Austin, Melissa Crijns and her husband, Fons of Austin, Katie Orenstein and husband, Ryan of Austin, Angela Cirilo of Fort Worth, and Michael Goad of Paradise Valley, Arizona; and great-grandchildren, Emma and Hanna Hutcheson and Chloe and Chris Crijns, all of Austin.
