GRANBURY — Loveita Gayle Amason, 89, passed away Saturday, Apr. 28, 2012 in Granbury.
Graveside service: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at the Pilot Grove Cemetery in Van Alstine, Texas.
Memorials: Alzheimer’s Association.
Loveita was born in Trenton, Texas, Mar. 22, 1923. She graduated from Trenton High School and was baptized at First Baptist Church in Trenton. Loveita enjoyed careers in the fasion industry with Clockwize Fashions, she was the first female security guard at Vought Aircraft, she worked for the Texas Employment Commission and she served in the Civil Service in Korea and the Philippines.
Loveita enjoyed playing golf with her friends in de Cordova and working in her yard. However, her special love was caring for injured birds and animals. She got the nickname of “the bird lady” from an article about her in the Star-Telegram.
Survivors: Son, Tom Gill and wife, Kay, of Granbury; grandchildren and spouses, Leslie and Don Gibson, Dena and Rick Flippen, Darby and Manny Rodriguez and Toby and Nikki Jackson; six great grandchildren with another on the way; and many nieces and nephews she enjoyed.
