GRANBURY — Lt. Col. Stuart “Bob” Higginbotham, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, in Glen Rose.
Memorial service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at Granbury First Presbyterian Church. Burial of cremains will be scheduled at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
Bob was born Oct. 31, 1928, in Huntington, W. Va., to Stuart Johnston Higginbotham and Virginia Bobbitt Higginbotham. He married Joyce Davison, May 3, 1952, in Hagerstown, Md. Bob was an alumnus of Virginia Tech. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 24 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a security police commander and a member of the Air Force Security Police Association. He was a member of Granbury First Presbyterian Church and was a Mason and a Shriner. Bob was a private pilot, enjoyed golf, tennis and snorkeling. He had a great love for his country.
Survivors: Wife, Joyce Higginbotham; daughters, Cynthia H. Kaiser and husband, Paul, Sandra H. Alford and husband, Tony, Susan S. Higginbotham; and grandchildren, Matthew S. Kaiser, Tricia Poplin, Andrew Poplin, Aimee E. Alford.
