Lyle Allen of Rainbow, Texas went home to be with Jesus on May 10, 2020. Lyle was born November 25th, 1932 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Ed and Catherine Allen. He has one sister Mary, five years older than him. After High School graduation Lyle entered the United States Navy and served on U.S.S. Boxer during the Korean War.
After his service years Lyle raised his children in Nebraska, Kansas, Arizona, and settled in Texas in 1978. Lyle married Angie Longoria on August 25, 1982. Lyle worked as a route man delivering snacks and retired from Frito-Lay in 1991. There were always plenty of snacks in the house when he was raising his kids.
After retirement Lyle and Angie traveled around the United States in an RV. They spent their summers in Cortez, Colorado and Flagstaff, Arizona which they enjoyed the most and spent most winters with family in north Texas. They finally settled down on their five-acre homestead in Rainbow, Texas.
Lyle was preceded in death by his sons Timothy John and Jeffrey Lyle, and his daughter Jana Leigh. He is survived by his daughter Paula Brown & son-in-law Steven Brown, son Lawrence Allen & daughter-in-law Rachel Allen, Grandchildren Michael Mcluty, Alex Sanchez, Natosha Hernandez, Tim Brown, Jennifer Brown, Gabe Turner and Hannah Turner-Allen, Great-Grandchildren Amanda, Liam, Armando, Angie, Hannah, Noah, Jordan, Micah and three cats, Ashley, Jordy, and Fluffy.
Lyle was a loving husband and best friend to Angie. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
