Lynda Joyce Hammons Morgan, age 77, of Azle, peacefully passed away in her sleep at home on the morning of Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Lynda was born October 26, 1942, to her father, Donald Humphrey Hammons and mother, Edith Eliza Cotten Hammons, who both preceded her in death. She was born in Gainsville and raised in Azle.
Along with her faith in God, Lynda had a deep love for her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She fought kidney disease much of her adult life. At the age of 50, Lynda received a kidney transplant and spent the rest of her life enjoying time with her family and living life to the fullest. She travelled to her beloved Maui several times, as well as taking quick trips with her family. She had a deep love of quilting and often donated her quilts to the First United Methodist Church of Azle for fundraisers, or to people in need. Lynda was also an avid reader and never far away from her books.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses over the years who monitored her health so they could have more time with her. The family has plans to have a Celebration of Life event at a later date when it is safe for all to attend. In lieu of flowers, Lynda requested donations be made in her memory to the Texas Kidney Foundation, ASPCA or First United Methodist Church of Azle.
Survivors: Lynda is survived by her daughter, LeRae Burton, and husband Max, of Azle; daughter, Cherie Hall, and husband Dale, of Euless; grandson, Miles Burton, and wife Lydia, of Weatherford; grandson, Justin Morgan of Euless; and two great-grand daughters. She was also blessed with many adopted family members who loved her dearly.
