Marcia Stenberg Walker, 85, took her final flight November 3, 2020 in Granbury, Texas. She was born in Highland Park, Illinois on December 7, 1934, to Sten and Kathryn Stenberg.
Marcia was married for over 60 years to Roe Edward Walker. Roe was a pilot in the Air Force, and they traveled all over the world. She caught the aviation bug and had a love for flying. So much so, she obtained her own private pilot license, soloing at the age of 60. Their last trip together in their beloved Comanche was to Alaska, Spring of 2012. Roe and Marcia were on the cover and highlighted in the December 2012 Comanche flyer magazine. She was a member of Brazos River Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, and an active member of the local EAA, Experimental Aircraft Association. They lived in Pecan Plantation for 20 years, enjoying “Hanger Parties” with their friends.
Marcia’s true gift was her talent of creativity. She taught fused and stained-glass classes, designed clothes, made the tastiest meals, and loved decorating cakes. There was nothing Marcia could not do.
Marcia is survived by her children, Kathryn Crane (Greg), Heather Scholan, Scott Walker (Suzanne); grandchildren, Jedidiah (Jessika), Caleb (Kasey), Megan, Alexandra (Mitch), Rebeka (Ryan), Cameron (Taylor), Jordan and Jackson; great grandchildren, Liam, Logan and Charlotte and many friends. Besides joining our Dad, she was also greeted at the pearly gates by her great grandson, Linton. She will be missed by many.
Services will be planned at a later date.
