She was born to Earl and Alma McKinney on December 20, 1926, in the state of Missouri.
Margaret loved spending time in the kitchen and creating delicious meals for her family and others that may have dropped by. To MOST she was called GRANNY, and to the select few we called her MOM. She loved children and most could not wait till they could see Granny again.
Margaret was an avid bowler whether real or digital on the Wii. She had limited range of motion with her shoulder’s, but this didn’t stop her, she was sure to beat you. She loved playing scrabble and doing puzzles the old-fashioned way and now on digital, plus Words with Friends and coloring.
Her great passion was sewing and making crafts. Her quilts where her pride and joy. If you were one of the selected few that received one of her quilts, consider yourself worthy of her Love.
She loved to travel, going to casinos even though she was not much of a gambler, she certainly loved the experience. Her last trip was in 2019 to Florida.
She worked at the Jefferson’s Children’s Home for many years, was an aide in Nursing Homes, worked at Nokia and was a wonderful babysitter.
She attended First Baptist Church of Azle.
She loved going to the Senior Citizens of Azle and this is where she met the love of her life, Don Spears and married him on December 27, 2006.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Marieta Dake Starkey of Azle, Kathleen Dake Lott of Fort Worth and Ellen Dake Macias of Crowley; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
