Marshall T. Cotten, 85, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at his Boyd home.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Marshall was born Jan. 27, 1927, in Fort Worth. Marshall and his wife, Peggy, were married for over 50 years. They were a very devoted and loving couple and together raised four children. They built the home they shared in Boyd and have resided there for 26 years.
Any one who knew Marshall respected his ability and determination. He was always joking and loved a good laugh. He had several lifelong friends and he was always there for anyone he could help.
He loved his children and grandchildren and was always proud of them. He knew the Lord and would listen to his audio Bible for hours. He was baptized March 11, 2012, and was at peace with God.
Marshall was proud of his country and his service in the U.S. Army. He never said a negative thing about his service to the U.S.A.
Marshall was an extremely strong man, both mentally and physically. He was very loved and respected and will be deeply missed.
Survivors: Wife, Peggy Cotten; children, Tommy Cotten and wife, Lisa, Gilda Jackson and husband, Bryan, Donna Keller, Teresa Brittain and husband, Tracy, and Kandie Cotten Hillin and husband, Bobby; sister, Louise Erter; grandchildren, Cody Cotten, Dusty Weaver, Chase Brawley, Tori Brawley, Trina Sullivan, Rickie McKinzie, Katie Howard, Roy Rich III and Kathy Peters; 12 great-grandchildren.
