GLEN ROSE — Martha Elizabeth Wright, 90, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Glen Rose. Service: 3 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Glen Rose. Burial: Squaw Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Glen Rose. Memorials: Gideons, First Baptist Church, or charities of your choice.
Martha was born June 27, 1921 in Childress to Samuel B. and Lillian Elizabeth Patterson Gillard. She married Linley Scott Wright on Feb. 14, 1946 in Weatherford and they raised four girls. She was a member of the 99ers, a National Association of Women Pilots. She enjoyed flying airplanes, riding motorcycles, raising toy poodles, sailing boats, and traveling. She loved landscaping her yard and was a gracious hostess, opening her home to many family members, friends and guests. She was preceded in death by grandsons, Jason Vanlandingham and Russell Barnett Vanlandingham.
Survivors: Husband of 66 years, Linley Scott Wright; daughters, Danella Rae Gray, Carol Lynn and husband, Sam Daniel, Toni Kay Naccache and Patti Marie and husband, Mark Flanary; grandchildren, Lynnette Randall, Jana Gray, Dustin Vanlandingham, Sam H. Daniel IV, Bethany Robertson, Mireille Dailey, Joelle Ogletree, Lindsey Flanary, Kara Verbeek and Kaylee Flanary; 15 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; and brother, Danel A. and wife, Doris Gillard.
