Martha Marie Sheppard

Martha Marie Sheppard, 81, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, in Granbury, Texas.

Services: 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury.
Visitation: 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. Friday prior to service.

Martha was born on July 26, 1935 in Red River County, Texas. She met her husband, Jack, on a blind date in 1956 and raised three children. They loved boating and camping with family and friends. They moved to Granbury in 1972. In addition to providing excellent care as a full time Registered Nurse, Martha sewed much of the families clothes, canned jellies, and had a home cooked meal prepared and on the table by 6pm. Martha was loving and caring and took great care of her parents in their later years. She was active in the Indian Harbor community and enjoyed traveling and dancing. She and Jack would dress like Santa and Mrs. Claus for the children’s Christmas party. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, sister Mary L. Nix, brothers Phillip and Stanley Varner.

Survivors: children Diane Sheppard-Haacke and Paul, Paula Hamm and Wendell and Alan Sheppard and Jammy; grandchildren Wendy, Melissa, Chad, Claire and Jackson; great grandchildren Madalynn, Parker, Cambrie, Kayla, Morgan, Hunter and one on the way; siblings Jimmy Varner, Gail Trevison and extended family including Nix children and Webster children.
