Mary Jane Schanck McCauley was born on June 28, 1930 in Weslaco, Texas to the late Audrey Nash Schanck and Robert Schanck. As a woman she was never without her signature gold earrings and dozens of bangles. Mary infused great fun and a passion for people in her life of 86 years. Her fashion flair was shared with her husband of 61 years, Jim McCauley. Together they owned and ran Mary McCauley ladies clothing stores in Ft. Worth. Though she worked in the stores, her real life’s work was her marriage, her three children and her four grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Chula and Gordon Doty, nephew Jim Doty, and her beloved daughter, Molly Holt.
Survivors: Husband, her precious Jimmy, who she has loved and cherished for 61 years. With Jimmy, she brought picnics, parties, Cowboys and Longhorn games, birthdays, trips, lake ventures, stocking stuffers, and a great love to the family; son, Marc McCauley and wife, Beth; daughter, Maggie Thompson and husband, Blair; grandchildren, Lauren and Sam McCauley, and Forrest and Claire Sledge; nephew, John Doty.
