AZLE — Max Monroe Sampley, a lifelong Azle resident, went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2012.
A graveside service wil be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 in Ash Creek Cemetery in Azle; the Rev. Nancy Nold officiating.
Max was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1950, fitting to this sweet man. He was happily married to Sandra for 40 years. They married on February 11, 1972, and raised two sons, Neil and Eric. He was the son of Clyde and Mary Sampley.
He worked for Texas Department of Transportation for 36 years before he retired. Not wanting to stay at home, he found another love, driving a school bus for Azle ISD. He loved the drivers as well as all the children, who brought more joy to his life.
Max was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Sampley; brother, James Sampley; and granddaughter, Ashley Sampley.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors: His wife, Sandra Sampley; mother, Mary Sampley; sons, Neil Sampley and wife, Jimmie, and Eric Sampley; and granddaughter, Jennifer.
