I first met and became friends with Michael in 2006-2007. I loved his wit, his smile and the respect he showed all of the customers at Granbury Drug. He always made me feel special. After he left for school and when he would show up at the pharmacy, they would call me to come over not telling me who was there. He ALWAYS acted like he was happy to see me and I would get another wonderful hug. He will be missed. Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends. My heart aches for all of you. TO MICHAEL: I will always remember you and I am so glad I got to work with you watch and you grow into a sweet, compassionate young man. Watch over us and I pray you are cracking jokes with your Uncle Willie and making wonderful music. 💔

I’m so sorry for the loss of your sweet Michael. He was one of my first true friends after high school. Before that, friends were mainly due to proxy. Michael was my first chosen friend. He helped me grow into a better person and showed me so much beauty in music and film that still shapes my taste and perception in everything. He was also my first roommate during college. I remember when our parents left us at our new apartment I cried alone in my room. He opened the door and told me something witty, and somehow convinced me to longboard with him down our new street. We went home and made me ice cream for dinner, which he jokingly assured me is what adults actually had for dinner every night. He helped me feel liberated and ready for the real world. Without him I would be a different person, and I’m eternally grateful for his positive, warm, and nurturing effect on my life. I’ll miss driving around with him late at night, listening to music, and sitting by the pool talking until the sun crept up on us. Rest easy Michael.

It’s so hard to write down in words at a time like this. When Bit, Becky & family moved back to Granbury I would run in to Michael from time to time. He always gave me a hug. He was sweet, kind, considerate & funny. Bit & Becky named Michael after my brother Mike, I was so proud. I’m sure they are in heaven playing guitars together loving their eternal life. Words cannot express my sorrow for the family. Please know you are in my prayers and my love to you all.

Father God, in the name of Jesus. Thank You for this time, the privilege to honor You by writing to my dear ohana. To Bit and Becky, Garry, and Deana, our hearts and spirits is with you all my ohana, the “Strain gang”. There’s no time or distance in the spiritual realm as we pray for peace and comfort of God’s love and hand over y’all. His spiritual protection, Spiritual provisions, and Spiritual blessings over y’all. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. It’s the Morolt’s, your cousins Laurel (Laurie), Ethonne, and Lauren (Kanoe) and the first memory of Mikey comes to mind as he was around 4 or 5 years old when I use to babysit the Strain keikis at their Kapahulu home on Oahu. It was just as Garry wrote, I remember the cape, and I remember his unique language and voice he used to chatter throughout the house as he zoomed through the rooms and hallways and outside in the backyard, with so much vigor. I just knew there was something special to connect with him and each of the Strain keikis. We had something in common, Mikey and I were the middle child. The Strain home was a blessing for me at that time in my life. They showed me how a loving family is formed and lived out by just being in their presence. I pray and thank God that my cousin Mikey is rejoicing in Heaven, dancing, praising our faithful God, in Jesus name. I pray for peace and love that continue to surrounds our precious ohana in Texas. Much love to cousins Bit, Becky, Garry, and Deana. Love from your ohana in Hawaii. “Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭147:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ By faith, I know he is truly flying with angels, doing the good work in his spirit form. Eternal life means life has not ended, it is just beginning. A hui hou, until we meet again Mikey!!! Love your ohana, The Morolt’s (Ethonne, Laurie, and Lauren (Kanoe)
