DECORDOVA — Michael L. Chamberlain, 67, passed away, Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, in Granbury.
Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home.
Mr. Chamberlain was born to Walter Lee Chamberlain and Shirley Frances Sniff Chamberlain on Nov. 23rd in Lodi, Calif. He married Linda Bartch, June 9, 1973, in Los Angeles, Calif. Michael retired from the Los Angeles Police Department in 1993. He then worked for Remington Arms until his retirement in 2011. He had lived in DeCordova for the past 8 years and enjoyed playing golf. He was a member of Acton United Methodist Church.
Survivors: Wife, Linda Chamberlain of DeCordova; son, Kevin Chamberlain of Signal Hill, Calif.; daughter, Dawne Chamberlain on Signal Hill, Calif.; grandson, Brandon Chamberlain of Signal Hill, Calif.; mother, Shirley Frances Chamberlain of San Diego, Calif.; brothers, Robert D. Chamberlain of Atlanta, Ga., Gregory S. Chamberlain of Seatle, Wa.; sisters, Terry Hendicks of Bullhead City, Ariz., Pamela Barrows and husband, Steve, of Klamoth Falls, Ore., Cindy Hamzey and husband, Paul, of San Diego, Calif., Pat Bouc of Dunfer Mile, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

I met Officer Chamberlain the first day that I started the LAPD academy. He was im charge of our recruit class of 3/83. I approached him with a personal issue. His handling of my concern is something I remember with appreciation and respect thirty years later. He was the first impression I had of the LAPD and I was extremely impressed with his gracious professionalism! I am still on the LAPD and I have never forgotten his kindness to me on that first day. He was truly a class act!
