TOLAR — Mildred Barton Hunter, 79, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, in Tolar.
Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Friday at Granbury First Baptist Church. Burial: Hunter Farm Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Wiley Funeral Home.
The family requests those attending the service to dress in red or animal print if possible.
Mrs. Hunter was born Oct. 7, 1932, in Thorp Spring, to George and Mattie Eden Barton. Mildred graduated from Granbury High School. She married J.D. Hunter, April 10, 1955, in Granbury and he preceded her in death in 1992. She worked in the material department for Lockheed Martin and retired after 42 years of service. Mildred was a volunteer and officer of the Lake Granbury Medical Center Auxilliary, member of the American Legion Auxillary, volunteerd and delivered meals on wheels. She also volunteered at the Granbury Visitors Center and the Granbury Newcomers Club. She loved to dance and to spend time with her grandchildren.
Survivors: Son, Jon Lynn Hunter; daughter, Paula Hunter Perkins and husband, Emmett, of Keller; granddaughter, Mary Ives and husband, Aaron, of Keller; grandson, Hunter Perkins; great granddaughter, Maddilynn Hunter; brother, Charles W. Barton and wife, Beverly, of Emory, Texas; sisters, Peggy Gilliam and Mary Allen, both of Granbury; sister-in-law, Helen Barton of Burleson; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.
