Mildred June Smith Milburn, of Cresson, Texas passed away April 14, 2019, at the age of 92 in the Isle At Watercrest – Mansfield. Service: 2:00 PM, Friday, April 19, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Interment: Cresson Cemetery, Visitation: 6:00 PM -8:00 PM, Thursday, April 18, 2019, Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.
Mildred was born in Palo Pinto, Texas to Zack and Jewell Powell Smith. She attended school in Cresson and graduated from Godley High School in 1944. Working at Montgomery Ward’s in the mail order department as a hot shot, pulling orders while wearing roller skates. Mildred met her husband in March while walking around the Cleburne square and married in June.
Mildred is preceded in death by her husband Carlton Edward Milburn, of Cresson, two sisters, Zackie Doniese Ralph and Mary Elizabeth Epperson.
Mildred is survived by her sister Linda Jewell Bowie, two sons (Carlton, Jr, of Ft. Worth), and (Larry, of Venus), two daughters (Karon Holt of Benbrook) and (Terri Locke of Cresson), ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cresson Cemetery.
