Mona Celene Compton Branson, 86, of Lipan passed from this earthly life to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 2, 2020. Service: 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 8, 2020, First Baptist Church of Lipan, Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Lie in State: 3:00 PM -8:00 PM, Friday, August 7, 2020, First Baptist Church of Lipan. In order to allow everyone a chance to pay their respects, the first hour from 3:00 to 4:00 will be designated for “high risk” individuals. Only people over the age of 60 or with underlying health conditions should come during that hour. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Lipan.
Mona was born on June 18, 1934 in Lipan, Texas to Leslie and Jewel Compton. She is the youngest of five children. Mona married Harold Branson on June 23, 1950 in Weatherford, Texas. They were inseparable for over 70 years of marriage. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and loved them dearly. Mona had a very strong Christian faith. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Lipan. She loved the Lord and served him daily.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Don & Bobby and her sisters Junella and Dolores, son-in-law: Rodney Sears, granddaughter: Celene Ranspot, and great-grandson: Carson Shockley.
Mona is survived by her husband: Harold Branson, children: Patty Ranspot and her husband Troy, Randy Branson, and Deana Williams and her husband Larry, granddaughter: Jackie Shockley and husband Shane and their children: Bryce, Hayden, Finley, and Hadley Shockley, grandson: Les Branson and wife Amber and their children Tate, Taylor, and Telese Branson, grandson: Erik Branson and wife Destiny and their children Paisley and Tansy, grandson: Kyle Branson and wife Kaylan and their children: Marlie and Hallie, and grandson: Judd Williams and wife Brandie and their children: Stanford, Celese, and Robin.
