On the evening of May 16, 2017, with family surrounding her, Nancy Ann Covington, 82, from Granbury, Texas left the restraints of life on earth to join her Lord and Savior in heaven. In honor of Nancy’s life, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm followed by a worship service at 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2017, at Sudan Cemetery, Sudan, Texas. Family members would like to invite all friends to join in celebrating her life and home-going.
Nancy was born in Toledo, Ohio on July 26, 1934 to Carlon and Grace Miller. Nancy married Tom W. Covington on June 26, 1954 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They went to Alaska as newlyweds. All of their five children and some of the grandchildren were born there. They homesteaded 40 acres and helped establish a Baptist church in the area of the homestead.
Nancy lived in Ohio, New Mexico, Alaska, and Texas. She was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Granbury, Texas and lived her life in honor of her Lord and her family. She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Tom Covington and five children, twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Nancy’s immediate survivors are Tom Covington of Granbury, TX; four sons, Randy and Robin Covington of Anchorage, Alaska; Kerry and Janet Covington of Itasca, TX; Allan and Jill Covington of Hartsville, SC; and Brad Covington of LaPine, OR; one daughter Tina Covington Barnwell and husband, Jerry, of Austin, TX.; and one brother, Richard Miller (and wife Janet) of Edinburg, TX.
Survivors include grandchildren, Adam, Corrie, Michelle, Eric, Chase, Cole, Candace, Colby, Callie, Karis, Brennan and Reegan. Great grandchildren are Emory, Everett, Grace, Madeline, Cami, Sadie, Davis, Sean and Conner.
