Nancy Gay Day died peacefully at home on January 22 in Granbury Texas at the age of 60.
Nancy is survived by her sisters Janis Austin of Katy, Texas and Kathy Puckett of Lubbock, Texas, her children, Jeremy and Stacey Day of The Woodlands, Texas and Mark and Shannon Day of Swansea Illinois and her grandchildren, Brianna, Clayton, Jackson and Norah Day. She is preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Viola Puckett of Kermit, Texas.
Nancy was born on August 8, 1959 in Midland, Texas. She attended Kermit High School until 1975. In 1975, she married Bill Day in Kermit, Texas and became a homemaker with two children. During these years, she also served in a variety of positions with the Kermit Volunteer Fire Department ladies’ auxiliary and volunteered at her childrens’ schools. In 1996, she moved to Abilene, Texas where she continued to be a homemaker and welcomed her first grandchild. In 2011, she married Anthony Stutts in Fort Worth, Texas and they spent many years traveling the world. Nancy found a special love for Germany, Croatia and Hawaii. Her family remembers her as loving, supportive, playful and open to new experiences.
Nancy will always be remembered for her courage during difficult times. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A memorial will be scheduled at a later time.
