GRANBURY, TX – Neota Cairene Cones Turner, 80, passed away Aug. 18, 2016 in Granbury. Service will be held at a later date.
Cairene was born Mar. 28, 1936 in Henrietta, OK to George and Maude James Finch. She was a devout Christian and a devoted wife and mother. She had a great love for family and was called my favorite aunt by many. Cairene loved to go places and visit family. She was a wonderful caregiver, taking care of her mom, two husbands and a son until all passed. She made everyone feel special. Cairene called and mailed letters and cards to family on a regular basis, mailing out up to 40 birthday cards to nieces, nephews, cousins, kids and grandkids each month. She was always busy working around the house humming away or singing gospels. Cairene was like a kid when it came to ice cream. No matter the time or temperature outside, she would eat it smiling and giggling the whole time.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Loyd Cones in 1992 and Robert Turner in 2008; parents; son, Harlan Cones; grandson, Chris Cones; brothers and sister, Euel Finch, Rufus Finch, Riley Finch, Vaughn Finch and Oneita Gary.
Survivors: Children, Lloyd Sharkston Cones of San Angelo and Roger Dean Cones of South Carolina; grandchildren, Ronnie Cones of San Angelo, Andrea Kelsey of Lake View, OR and Candice Evartt of Tolar; great grandchildren, Brianna Devereaux of Coos Bay, OR, Tristan Devereaux of Landry, WY, Austen Evartt, Diane Evartt, and Colten Evartt of Tolar; sister, Coeta ‘Della’ Rimer of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hagerman Joy Center in Cairene’s name or to a charity of your choice.
