Norma Jean Nelson

Norma Jean Nelson, 87, passed on to her eternal life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at her home in Granbury with her family by her side. She was born on July 18, 1935 in Dallas, Texas to John Ruyle and Pauline Rogers Ruyle.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, son, Michael Ray Ragan; four brothers, Melvin Earl Ruyle, Louis Wayne Ruyle, Johnny Earl Ruyle and James Timothy Ruyle and by four sisters, Betty Anderson, Dorothy Lacky, Opal Marie Baker, and Jeanie Wilson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bernard “Sonny” Nelson of Granbury; son Rickey Edwin Ragan of Corsicana; son Tommy Gene Hughes of Hutto; sister-in-law, LaJenia Ruyle; (11) grandchildren, (23) great-grandchildren, countless great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12noon-2pm. Monday, April 10, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Wiley Funeral Home Chapel in Granbury with Chaplain Tommy Pophin officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
