Norma Lee Ritter Hrdy passed away in peace on Saturday, May 5, 2012, in Azle.
Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Azle.
Committal: 11 a.m. Friday in El Reno Cemetery in El Reno, Oklahoma.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Norma was born February 8, 1926, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to Corbett and Coral Dell Burnett Ritter. She graduated from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University) with a master’s in education in 1950. After graduation, she taught in several elementary schools in El Reno, Oklahoma, for 10 years.
She met her husband, Jerry, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, in 1942, and they were married in 1947 when he returned from World War II. They lived in El Reno for over 35 years, and after Jerry passed, she found her way to Azle.
She enjoyed playing bridge, bingo, and reading whenever she could. She was known and loved for her ornery personality, her humor in everyday situations, her radiant smile, and an unwavering resilience.
Her husband, Jerry Hrdy, and her father and mother preceded her in death.
Survivors: Continuing on in this life to hold her memories dear are her daughter, Lee Ann Parker with her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Stephanie and Jerry Dean Parker; her sister, Mary Catherine Allen and her husband, Roy; sister-in-law, Helen Halacka; brothers-in-law, Frank and Milos Hrdy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
