Ollie Jeannine Palmer

Our dear Gran, Jeannie White Palmer, left her earthly family and friends on Thursday, April 14, 2016. She will now be with all her family and friends that have gone before her. Though our hearts are sad, they are also happy because she is free now and forever from any illness.

Service: At her request, services will be private.

Ollie Jeannine Palmer was born August 3, 1929, in Harmon, Louisiana. Joe Miller White, her dad; Pauline Broussard White, her mom; and Joe Cooper White, her brother, welcomed her to their family of now four. She grew up in Yazoo City, Mississippi, where she met and married her sweet love, Em.

Her husband, Emmett Edwin Palmer, and her son, Matthew Bryan Palmer, were there to greet her as she made her way to the other side. We know they took her directly to the library of the heavens, as earth had taken her sight and the first thing she would want to do was read a great book!

Jeannine, as she liked to be called, was a teacher. She was a teacher by profession and by example. She taught public school for 37 years and retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District as a first-grade teacher. To hear her read a book to a child was truly a gift for all who were listening.

We are all going to miss her wonderful stories, her infamous support of the Dallas Cowboys, and we rest ourselves knowing she will never again have to be afraid of a storm.

“We love you Mom, Gran, Sis, Jeannine, Ollie and Aunt Jeannine, and we will see you again when it is our turn… we know you will be there to greet us too!”
