GRANBURY — Opal D. Jones, 86, won the victory and went home to be with her Lord on Friday evening, June 8, 2012, in Granbury.
Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Granbury Church of Christ. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Wiley Funeral Home.
Memorials: Foster’s Home for Children in Stephenville.
Opal was born March 26, 1926, in Silverton to Willie and Bettie Davis Weast. She graduated from Silverton High School and West Texas State University in Canyon. She worked as a secretary for several years before beginning a long teaching career of 22 years. After retirement from teaching, she was very active in benevolent programs, playing golf and cooking delicious foods for her family and friends.
Survivors: Husband of nearly 65 years, Kenneth Lee Jones; loving children, Karen McKay and husband, Bill, of Weatherford, Terry Jones and wife, Kay, of Cleburne and Dewanna Faulkner and husband, Dennis, of Irving; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
