I met the Chief when he was the maintenance superintendent at 10th Air Force. As a maintenance group commander I often went to him for advice on a wide range of issues. His wise advice made me a better person and I my life was better because he was in it. Over the years we formed a fast friendship. My family and I had the pleasure of visiting with him and his family over Easter in 2017. He was such a gracious host and showed great kindness to my disabled son. He took us fishing on his boat. One of my greatest treasures is the picture I have of my son's ear splitting grin with the fish he caught. The Chief made his day very special. Chief, the world was a better place because you were in it. We pray for his soul and for comfort for his family. Those who read this, please consider donating to one of the veteran's organizations in the Chief's name.

When I was a kid Ota would take John and his buddies hunting out at the farm just about every weekend he could and we would leave on Friday night when he got off work so by the time we got there it would be late. The part that I’ll always remember is when us boys settled down in the back seat and it got quiet Ota would pull out his Harmonica and play along with the music on the radio. Great times RIP Ota

One of the best things I did in my life was to hire you in 1976. I am so proud of your accomplishments. You will be missed by many. Rest in peace, your fight is over.
