Paschal “Buddy” Wisdom was born December 22, 1931 in Bonita, Texas to Roy and Ruthie Wisdom. He went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2018.
Buddy grew up in Bonita and Illinois Bend and moved to Fort Worth at the age of 11. He graduated from Technical High School in Fort Worth. He met Doris, his wife, at the Silver Wheel Skating Rink in White Settlement in 1950 and they were married in 1952. He served 4 years from 1951 to 1955 in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. After returning from the service, he went to work at General Dynamics and retired from there in 1987. Ten years before retiring he and Doris built the Granbury Skating Rink. He has had a hand in raising three generations of children at the skating rink and he loved every moment.
While living in Benbrook from 1955 to 1977, he was a City Councilman and member of the Recreation Association and Jaycees where he held office in each one. He also, coached little league and high school baseball while living in Benbrook. He was a great sports enthusiast, and loved to hunt, fish and play golf.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Granbury since 1978. He and Doris have raised two lovely children, a boy and girl. He loved his family and always wanted them to be near. He was preceded in death by his son: Kent.
Celebration of Life: September 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 1851 Weatherford Hwy, Granbury, Texas 76048. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Children’s Ministry at First Baptist Church or to Alzheimer Association, 2630 W. Freeway, Suite 100, Fort Worth, Texas 76102.
Survivors: He is survived by his loving wife, Doris of 66 years; daughter: Cheryl; granddaughter: Ashley; grandsons: Ty and Tanner; great-granddaughter: Cali; sister: Mary Nell Wells and husband John, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
