Patricia Ann Orrell was born March 15, 1937, in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, and raised in Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated and met her husband of 59 years, Danny Hernandez. The pair became dance instructors and for years, proudly showed off their skills to any audience, including friends. Pat and Danny were married June 23, 1956, in Wichita and moved to Fort Worth in 1961 to be closer to aging parents while raising two daughters.
Pat retired from Witherspoon & Associates after 30 years of service as vice president and media director. She built a village of industry peers and longtime friends by her business acumen, happy-go-lucky attitude, and generosity. She helped pioneer the local chapter of American Women in Radio and Television (AWART). She was the consummate blond “party girl,” especially as hostess with her revered pool in the background. She relished playing games, including poker, slots and ponies. She was always confident in everything she did and family values were important as a loving wife and mother. In disagreements, male friends were called “Buddy.” Sometimes, even Danny got it, too! Happy trails, lady!
Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Dale Orrell.
She is survived by her lifetime love and husband, Danny Hernandez; her daughters, Cindy Bridges and Debby Hernandez; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
