Pearl Wilson Tidwell, 90, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at LaJunta Baptist Church. Interment will be at Ash Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Pearl was born on her mother’s Indian land near McAlester, Oklahoma, the fourth of 10 children to her parents, Ray and Iva Wilson. She was a proud member by blood of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, Order of the Eastern Star, a faithful member of LaJunta Baptist Church, and was a longtime employee of General Dynamics. She had lived in the same home in Azle for 54 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, R.L. Tidwell; by four sisters; two brothers; and a son-in-law, Paul Burton.
She is survived by her daughters, Delores Burton, Sharon Gibbs and husband, Dick, Sandy McClendon; grandchildren, Paula Burton, Max Burton and wife, LeRae, Tripp Burton, Casey Gibbs, Ricky Gibbs, Brian Gibbs and wife, Debbie; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Adair and Irene Tennant; brother, Ralph Wilson; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
