Pedro Rodriguez

Pedro Rodriguez. Sr., 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Pedro was born April 8, 1946 in Acuna Coahuila, Mexico to Mauro and Natalia Rodriguez. He was known as the lil man with the giant personality, but to his family he was a superhero; 10 feet tall and bullet proof. Pedro was a man of integrity, class and honor. He always put his family first and foremost even when he was in the hospital. When he was fifteen, he escorted Carlota Alvarado to her Quinceanera. Pedro served as a Sargent in the Mexican Color Guard and received his vocational degree in Court Reporting before moving to Chicago where he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He was stationed in South Carolina before fighting in the Vietnam War. He was very proud to be a veteran. Pedro married Carlota Alvarado May 2, 1970 and together they raised a family. Pedro would often say being a father/grandfather was the best job in the world; his greatest desire was to spend every waking moment spoiling his family. Cancer was his last foe, after winning a battle, he lost the war. Pedro came home March 1, 2017; it was there he shared his last goodbyes before closing his eyes one final time.
Survivors: His loving wife of 46 years, Carlota Rodriguez; daughter, Rosalia Linwood & husband Patrick; sons, Pedro A Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Maribel, Carlos A Rodriguez & wife Misty, Armando Rodriguez & wife, Amanda, Fernando Rodriguez; sisters, Odelia Jimenez and husband Ruben, Elsa Lopez & husband Enrique, Deloris Zarate & husband Vicente, Amanda Garcia & husband Tony, Sylvia Farquhar & husband Bobby; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
