Peggy (Copeland) Covert, a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to travel and have fun, passed away November 18, 2020. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Monday November 23, 2020, First United Methodist Church, Granbury; Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Martin’s Funeral Home, Granbury, Sunday November 22, 2020; Interment: Holly Hills Memorial Park.
Peggy was born on February 28, 1933 in Paris, Texas. The daughter of Joe and Tessie Gray of Paris; which preceded her in death.
She married G.W. (Scooter) Copeland May 5, 1951 in Hugo, Oklahoma; her husband of 32 years preceded her in death on December 9, 1982. They had one son, Ricky L. Copeland of Granbury, he preceded her in death. She married Charles Rex Covert in 1983, he preceded her in death.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Granbury; a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, she was Past President of Comanche Peak, Good Samaritans, Lake Granbury Medical Center, Auxiliary & Ports-O-Call & Comanche Harbor Ladies Club, and a hospital Auxiliary Volunteer since 1977 in Granbury which she loved dearly. It was her life to help everyone in need.
Peggy was devoted to her family and friends, loved her husband (Rex) very much. She touched the hearts of many people with her smile, kindness and generosity.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Kristie Copeland of Granbury; 3 grandchildren: Kristy Copeland of Granbury, Greg Copeland and wife Heather, Katrena Reeves and husband Justin of Granbury; sister: Ruby Preston of Rockwall; great-grandchildren: Roper, Austin, Alexis, Braxton, Paisley, Tripp and Dalton; several nieces, nephews; and along with a host of dear friends too numerous to name.
