Pete Portman, age 80, of Granbury, TX., passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020.
Full of energy and on the go, Pete was an entrepreneur auto dealer who dearly loved his trade, was a Catholic, and a loving father and grandfather.
Pete was born a twin in Raymondville, TX. to parents Joseph Portman and Mary Bellinghausen Portman. He served honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard, before becoming a mechanic, and later, an auto dealer.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Stephens Portman, his brother Buddy Portman, his sisters Margret Louise “Peggy” Brents, and Patricia Ann “Patti” Trumble, and his parents.
Survivors include his daughter Tracie Schoenthal, son John Portman, and their mother Darlene Porteous, brothers Clair Portman and Jean Portman, along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosary and Memorial Mass will be at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Granbury on Monday, August 3rd. (Masks and social distancing required.) Rosary at 10:30 am and Memorial Mass at 11.00am. Inurnment will be at a later date at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
