GRANBURY — R.F. Westbrook, 81, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Granbury. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Granbury. Memorials: Friends for Animals or First United Methodist Church.
R.F. was born Oct. 12, 1931 in Waco. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1958. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was an insurance auditor for the State of Texas Department of Insurance for 30 years, 25 years of which he was a supervisor for the North Texas area. He retired in 1988 and moved to Granbury. R.F. contracted for the State of Georgia for an additional six years before retiring in 1994. After retirement, he enjoyed making new friends, playing golf, looking after his pets, working in his yard and reading. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Granbury and the DCBE Men’s Golf Association.
Survivors: Wife, Glenda Westbrook; sons, Robert, Paul and Phil Westbrook and Ryan George; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Doug Westbrook, three nieces and a nephew.
