Ralph Graber was born March 2, 1937 at his family home in Etna Green, Indiana to Peter J. and Emma M. Graber. He was proud to be raised in a loving Old Order Amish family with 2 brothers and 6 sisters. He married Sharon Rae Myers on August 10, 1962 with whom he raised 3 children in Washington, Iowa before settling in Fort Worth in 1989.
Ralph was adventurous by nature and lived a bold and storied life of hard work and great fun. He was extraordinarily capable and competent, able to build or repair anything with great skill. He was a farmer, a builder, a successful businessman, a seafood salesman, a pilot, a stunt driver, and a father who inspired and awed his family with his toughness, his fearlessness, and his unwavering resilience in the face of adversity.
He loved to travel with his wife and family, especially to the Bahamas where they shared many cherished memories beside the ocean. At home, Ralph most enjoyed spending time with his loved ones watching the Texas Rangers or the Dallas Mavericks, drinking a rum and coke, and sharing incredible stories of his unique life. Those who knew Ralph will greatly miss his storytelling, his lively spirit, and the laughter he brought to our lives.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Sharon; his brother, Jacob; his sisters, Amanda Kuhns and Martha Kaufman (Enos); and his brothers-in-law, Jacob Gingerich and Olen Schrock.
Ralph is survived by his siblings, Dorothea Gingerich, Mary Shrock, Ruth Graber (Joe), Susie Hershberger (Homer), and Paul Graber (Anna); his children, Rob Graber (Cyndi), Rae-Ann Daniel (Mike), and Regina Graber; his grandchildren, Tyler Daniel, Ryan Daniel, Lyndsie Graber, and Abby Graber; and the many friends who filled his life with joy.
The family invites everyone to gather at the shop following the memorial for a light meal and fellowship. BYOB. Please RSVP to cyndi@thegrabers.org
