Raymond “Ray” William Reed
Ray went to be with the Lord peacefully on October 21, 2020 in Granbury, Texas. He was born to Edith and Wallace Reed on September 30, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas.
At the age of eighteen Ray proudly joined the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and came home to defend his community, joining the Hood County Volunteer Fire Department in Granbury, at Station 70 Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Department. Ray’s passion was for serving our community as a firefighter and a Hood County Sheriff’s Deputy. Always there to help anyone in need.
Ray’s love was for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was immeasurable. Doing anything for them to keep them safe and to feel his love for each of them. He went out of his way to do what he could when he was needed. He loved to travel and eat his lobster or shrimp, which has become a family joke. His smile would light up the room and he could always make you feel as though you were the only person in his life.
