Richard Owen Coppenbarger

December 19, 1946 - December 24, 2018

Richard Owen Coppenbarger, of Granbury, left his earthly home on December 24, 2018 to join his heavenly father and those that have gone before him.

No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
Richard was born December 19, 1946 in Lincoln, IL, the eldest son of Robert Dean and Daphne Ellen (Lummis) Coppenbarger. Richard served in the United States Navy aboard the submarine, U.S.S. Snook during the Vietnam War. Upon discharge from the Navy, Richard was employed by Wallace Press in Clinton, IL. Richard later joined GTE telephone company as a lineman. Richard married Linda Kay Wobio on June 11, 1977 in LaPorte, Indiana. He later retired from Verizon Communications.

Richard is survived by his brothers, David (Janet), Granbury, TX; John (Roberta), Granbury, TX; Alan, Clinton, IL; and Stephen (Linda) Forsyth, IL. Richard is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, his parents and sister-in-law, Pamela Coppenbarger.

Wiley Funeral Home assisted the family with cremation rites.
