Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Richard Melvin See, 66, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at his home surrounded by family.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 23, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1201 S. Cherry Lane in White Settlement. Visitation and vigil service will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas.
The son of George and Sophie See, Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 6, 1949. Richard and his high school sweetheart, Lillie Mourton, attended the University of Arkansas and were married in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on January 30, 1971. Upon graduation, Richard was commissioned into the military and proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, retiring as a colonel. Post military, he was a program manager at Lockheed Martin until he retired in 2009.
Richard is survived by his best friend and wife of 45 years, Lillie See; daughters, Courtney McDonald and her husband, Terrell, Heather Conklin and her husband, Shane; grandsons, Jacob, Coleson, Cody and Nolan Conklin; and brother, George See and his wife, Caryle.
