Uncle Ricky always had a smile for everyone. Always told the best stories too. Between him and my dad you could bet a great tale would be told!

Uncle Rick had the rare combination of humor and skill, something I have not witnessed in another human being. Some of the fixes or modifications he would come up with to get something working correctly would blow my mind! I will never forget when him and grandpa Wayland found out that I accidentally left a red rag under the intake of my ‘74 Plymouth, which brought about much humor and jokes every time I saw him. When people say someone is a character, they say so without full understanding unless they met Rick. The man could bring out the best in anyone and make them laugh at the same time. Between the stories my dad would tell and the memories I have of him, he will live on forever.

My dad was a brilliant man. There was nothing he couldn't fix. He got a lawnmower going one time and took me in has lap to go mowing. When we finished, we went to park it in a garage right in front of an old washing machine. Well with me in his lap I was in his way and he couldn't hit the brake!!! I kid you not this riding mower crawled up the washer and dumped over on us!! Obviously I watched too many movies because my little butt ran out of there screaming at him to, *Get up!!! It's gonna blow!!" My dad is laughing his butt off at me while I'm crying and panicking. I really thought that because we crashed, it would automatically blow up. LOL Dad and I never forgot about that time. It was one of his favorite memories and mine too. 💜💙💚
